“Being a part of ACT has truly shaped me into being the person I am today. The empowerment and knowledge I have gained has phenomenally influenced my life in every social and personal aspect. I now have gained the insight of how I can help my fellow peers and community through positive advocacy. I have also gained life-long friendships with various beautiful, like-minded women that are just as passionate as I am. I am forever grateful for having this opportunity to be given to me and I hope to continue fighting for social justice for all!”

Rosalinda Guzman

“I was 19 when I had my daughter. During and after my pregnancy I felt alone, scared and hopeless. I was juggling school, a job, and most importantly being a new mom. I felt like I had the world weight on my shoulders. Until one day, a friend invited me to the Visalia Teen Success group and from that moment I felt like I wasn't alone. There were so many young moms who were struggling in the same situation as I was. I made new friends who understood me and didn't judge me. Most importantly, Teen Success Visalia, has two amazing leaders, Amy Davis and Michelle Rowsey. They helped me and my daughter with many of our struggles. Teen Success is a safe place to talk and express feelings and thoughts. It's a rewarding feeling knowing our group is there to support one another. I'm forever thankful for Teen Success Visalia group. I know I will achieve my goals.”

Josie Contreras

“I'm very thankful for having the opportunity to become an apprentice of an empowering, motivating, and leader-creating organization: ACT! These inspiring mentors are guiding me in the right path; polishing, and bringing out the powerful activist in me. As an FLA participant, I have been provided with the tools and confidence to become an active participant of the civic governance process; that is, to get informed about issues, to raise my voice, and to create the change I want to see! I'm a work-in-progress, and I'm confident that ACT is the key to becoming an empowered, influential, and justice-driven, future female leader! Thank you ACT!”
